2025 North Bay League Cross Country Championships

More than 300 high school cross-country athletes are expected to compete this Saturday at the North Bay League Championships, held on the Bob Shor Memorial 2.97-mile course at Spring Lake Park in Santa Rosa.

Championship pennants are on the line for both the NBL–Oak and NBL–Redwood divisions and will be awarded following combined races featuring all eleven league teams. The day will open with junior varsity races beginning at 8:50 a.m., followed by the varsity contests starting at 10:45 a.m.
NBL–Oak Division
Girls Team Competition:
Maria Carrillo enters as the dominant favorite after another undefeated regular season, and the Pumas are poised to claim their 20th NBL title in the past 22 years. Windsor is well-positioned for second place, with Analy and Santa Rosa expected to vie for the third podium spot.
Girls Individual Competition:
Maria Carrillo junior Joslyn Tribbey and Windsor sophomore Emily Williams headline the field and are expected to battle for the top spot. Other potential top-ten finishers include Maria Carrillo’s Sophie Barrow, Sofia Carollo, Quinne Crocker, Keely Graziani, Marian Storoba, and Andi Fogg; Windsor’s Isla LaFleur and Darla Jensen; Analy’s Emma Wenzel James and Soleil Vanden Heuvel; and Montgomery’s Cora Morthole.
Boys Team Competition:
Maria Carrillo, currently ranked 9th in the State in Division 3 by PrepCalTrack, enters the meet undefeated in regular-season competition and is heavily favored to capture its 14th consecutive NBL–Oak title. Behind them, Analy and Windsor are expected to battle closely for second place — the Tigers edged the Jaguars by just one point in their regular season matchup.
Boys Individual Competition:
Maria Carrillo junior Cameron Jones will look to continue his standout season with a league title but will face strong challenges from Windsor’s Michael Ervin (sophomore) and Xavier Surgeon (senior), teammate Austin Pertrik, and Analy’s Logan Dickson. Other contenders for top-ten finishes include Analy’s Owen Dawson and freshman Jack Stoumen, Windsor’s Corbin Post, and Maria Carrillo’s Trenton Dawson, Hugh Cochrane, Trystan Treinen, and Jackson Helms.
NBL–Redwood Division
Boys Team Competition:
Healdsburg went undefeated during the regular season and enters as the clear favorite for the Redwood title, followed by Piner.
Boys Individual Competition:
Healdsburg sophomore Lucas Welty leads the field, with teammate Jake McWilliams close behind. Other podium contenders include Gavin Falleri (Ukiah), Esteban Gaytan (Piner), and Sepp Busenitz (Cardinal Newman).
Girls Team Competition:
Piner is favored to repeat as Redwood Division champion after a perfect regular season. Rancho Cotate, Healdsburg, and Ukiah are expected to battle for the remaining team podium positions.
Girls Individual Competition:
Cardinal Newman junior Ashlin Mallon enters as the heavy favorite for the individual league title. Challengers for top spots include Piner’s Kamila Olvera and Jocelyn Uraje, Rancho Cotate’s Reese Chang and Kenzie Uwins-Johnson, and Ukiah’s Angie Garcia
