Some were once the Empire Record and most are still in the top 50 performances ever.
Montgomery’s Chris Day’s discus throw of 181-6¼ at a dual meet verses Rancho Cotate has only been bettered by the current Empire record set in the 2019 State meet.
Rancho Cotate’s Corey Nelson (200 in 21.0) and El Molino’s Lani Gaspar (100 10.5) also have all-time top 10 performances that were set in dual or tri meets.
Nelson 400, Dan Aldridge 800, Mel Gray long jump and Dennis DeSoto shot put are the only boys who currently hold both the dual record and the Empire Record for the same event.
