CIF State Championships 6/2/2017 at Buchanan High School
Brianna Bourne of NCS’s College Prep took out a fast first lap, for a heat, of 68.41 with Rylee just behind in 68.80. Rylee continued to follow her thru 800 at 2:23.12 to 2:23.38. At the bell Rylee took the lead at 3:38.57 before finishing in second at 4:52.78 to Emily Skahill of St. Francis in 4:52.47. Rylee only needed to stay ahead of 5th place in 4:53.11 to assure a spot in the finals. Everyone under 4:58 made the finals set for Saturday.
Julia Stamps still dominates the 1600 performance list with 13 runs under 4:50 but Rylee now passes Sara Bei, 15 to 14, for runs under 4:55.
Besides those two only the three below have ever run as fast as Bowen’s run today.
