Montgomery freshman Hanne Thomsen looked like she took a play from the Sara Bei play book starting out way back at 25th place after the first mile in 5:42 before turning to another gear to move all the way up to 7th in the elite Championship Girls race on the famed Woodward Park 5k course at the Clovis Invitational. The list of local girls who have ever gone faster here is full of National and State Champions. She was also 7th out of the 665 finishers in all races.
Maria Carrillo’s Jacob Donohue had an excellent day himself moving to 15th All-Time for the area in the elite Championship Boys race. Jacob was 32nd out of 948 finishers.
