CoCome McKamey turned in one of the Redwood Empires best ever multievent performances ever.
Competing at the AAU West Coast Championships, in Nevada, McKamey turned in a score of 4034 points in the Heptathlon to win the event by over a thousand points.
It is second in the Heptathlon All-Time only to another Santa Rosa High athlete, Melissa Guanella from 1997 who scored 4328 pts.
For the five event Pentathlon McKamey’s marks scored 3031 pts trailing only Guanella at 3105 and Ursuline’s Pam Karbowski from 1992 at 3112 points.
Using her first six events she need a 2:37.00 800 to surpass Karbowski in the Pentathlon.
To surpass Guanella in the Heptathlon Cocome needed a 2:20.20.
McKamey is only a junior and has another year to compete in this event.
