This weekend will continue on the cross country season for a number of our runners.
If you know of more let me know.
The Montgomery girls trio will split up this week.
Hanne Thomsen will head north to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon.
Seelah Kittelstrom and Amrie Lacefield will head south to the Foot Locker West Regional Championships in Walnut.
One of our former runners, Daniel Skandera, had a good showing at the Foot Locker South Regional his mom reports.
Daniel is the grandson of Grace Christian Academy coach Harry Skandera. Daniel is the one who a few years ago was setting world age group mile records.
Last track season as a ninth grader Daniel ran a 3200 in 9:13.21.
Sad for us but Daniels family has moved to Alabama where his mom reported this.
It was a good day at Foot Locker South.
Daniel represented Alabama well for the South (14 states, 210 runners). He was the first Alabamian. Also, the top finishing sophomore. Top 15 (he was 14th) is a good finish. The runners ahead of him were 2 juniors and 11 seniors, mostly commits to good collegiate running programs. He’ll be #3 returning next year.
He really wanted top 10, but it was a good race with a solid time: 15:11.
Top ten qualified for Nationals in San Diego.
