In the small school varsity girls’ race in the morning, Sonoma Academy junior Josie Hill made her season debut after transferring from Technology. She shadowed Las Lomas sophomore Ella Malick and UCLA commit Ava Decleve of Scotts Valley before pulling away for the win after Cougar Hill. Her winning time of 13:35 (2:25 faster than last year) ties her for the third fastest time on the course with Vanessa Fraser on the course, with only Ashlyn Boothby (13:25) and Anna Maxwell (13:31) with faster times. Northgate continued their undefeated season with an easy victory led by 5th place finisher, Olivia Joseph.
Besides Hill’s win Casa Grande’s Ninel Ho and Sonoma Academy won the individual and team honors in the Frosh/Soph Small Schools race.
