Injured? Thoughts from Sara Hall

Injuries are an opportunity to check in and see how much the fire still burns.
Are you willing to do the many things necessary to get back to full fitness? The endless appointments, the tedious exercises, dragging yourself to the gym to cross train… it seems that being injured means your daily activities take 3 times as long as when you’re healthy and marathon training, and none of them are very enjoyable.
For me, there was never a question that the answer was “Yes, I’m willing”. The fire comes not from needing to prove anything to myself or others, but of the pure joy of doing what I was created to do and continuing to explore my potential in this sport. It’s fueled by fun & curiosity.
Feeling the weight of that YES and knowing your WHY is that much more powerful once you’re healthy again.
