We are concluding the end of the first two years of the newest realignment and the powers that be will be looking at possible moving teams around between the Oak and Redwood divisions. Word is also out that St Vincent will be joining the 12 schools to make it 13.
I’m going to go out on a limb and venture to say Maria Carrillo will stay in the Oak division.
For me personally I love a good dual meet and am not hot on the idea of center meets but with so many teams not even being able to come up with five runners to have a scoring team I can see at least the Redwood league being better off with center meets than having meets with both teams being incomplete. At the Redwood girls finals half the teams were incomplete and even in the Oak finals the boys had only five complete teams. Adding St Vincent does not look like it will improve competition any as both there varsity teams were incomplete this year. Next years Oak division could have anywhere from 5 to 9 schools in it with the others in the Redwood division (4 to 8).
