Dear Supporters of the Sonoma-Mendocino Counties Running Community,
I hope this email finds you well this holiday season. I wanted to reach out to you to request that you inform your high school runners of this unique opportunity to train with runners from other teams in the offseason. Growing up in Santa Rosa (Piner High ’03 grad), I personally know the power of running with athletes from other schools, the growth it entails from every runner – fast and slow – and the competition that flourishes when runners are able to get to know those from other teams. The ‘Gardina Boys’, as my brother Jeff and I were called then, ran with anyone who wanted a better workout (better together, as they say) while enjoying the beautiful trails of Sonoma County and beyond. I will be taking over as President of the Empire Runners in 2024 and we hope to have more youth programs in the future. In order to be successful, we will certainly need your support. With our partnership, I know we can improve upon the high caliber of runners we already have, and also create lifelong bonds and friendships, plus a love of running that will last for decades to come.
I ask that you share this program with your athletes in hopes that they will try this program out, or be open to future ERC programs to bring our great running community together. Please note that the price is now $99 and we have financial assistance for those who need it.
Lastly, please let me know if you would like to help at all with any programs, clinics, coaching, anything at all, that will be made to all high school athletes through the Empire Runners.
