What an amazing day for Santiago Adan.
He was only entered in the day time open division of the discus at the Arcadia Invitational.
In that open event his first throw soared to a new PR distance of 172-1 to win the open division.
He was then invited to compete in the Elite flight later in the day with many of the best in the nation.
Again his very first throw in that group landed at another PR at 176-7.
That moved him to 5th All-Time and the Empire’s farthest ever throw in an Invitational. It was also a school record surpassing the mark of 175-4 by Brian Chase from 1997.
