Montgomery’s Hanne Thomsen turned in another stellar performance finishing 2nd at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in Boston.

Thomsen battled for the lead for most of the race from 2000 meters on before Indiana’s Mallory Weller past Thomsen and Oregon’s Chloe Huyler with about a 100 meters to go.
Thomsen time of 10:07.44 for the 2 mile race made her the 8th fastest indoor runner in the US this season. Her enroute 3200 time was 10:04.15, giving her the Empire’s 7 fastest 3200’s ever.

Thomsen’s teammates ran in other heats.
Amrie Lacefield actually won her heat in 10:44.04 for 37th overall out of the 138 total finishers.
Her time moves her to 13th All-Time with a 15 second improvement over her old PR.
Seelah Kittelstrom ran 11:26.25 in her heat.
Also at the meet was Technology’s Josie Hill who finished 3rd in her heat of the 400 in 57.72.
