Ellie Roan, 12, West County

Girls’ 3200m Run 9:10 PM

Hanne Thomsen, 9, Montgomery

Hanne Thomsen

Our newest distance standout has run with the best and done well.
The two girls with better PR’s look to only be running the 1600 at state.
The top seed is Lauren Soobrian of Los Altos at 10:17.17 with Thomsen at 4th but Thomsen has run a 10:12.03.
The NCS’s Sophia Nordenholz won the 1600 and ran second to Thomsen in the 3200 but looks to have dropped the 1600 to try and battle in the 3200.
Nordenholz has the second best PR at 10:14.32 which she ran right behind Thomsen in at the Arcadia meet.
Riley Chamberlain of Del Oro handed Thomsen one of her rare defeats running 10:14.56 at Stanford and is entered.
The Redwood Empire record is 10:11.11 by Sara Bei of Montgomery from 2001.

This has been a strong event for us at state.
