I am so excited that it looks like we will have our first complete season since 2019.
Normally we know who all the big stars of the upcoming season will be but never has that been less true than this year.
When you look over the Returning 2021 All-Redwood Empire Running Track & Field picks you will see who some of the stars will be.
But I’m sure there will be a number of athletes not on these lists who will breath new life and excitement into the coming year.
I will mention seven girls who all had top marks in the Redwood Empire last year.
Maria Carrillo’s Lily Mulligan was only a sophomore last year earned ATHLETE OF THE YEAR after destroying the Empire record in the Pole Vault at 13-0 plus long jumping 18-2.
The Puma’s also have the other top vertical jumper in Alexis Hunt also a juniot this year high jumping 5-6.
West County has two senior stars coming from Analy Carolina Dawson 800 2:19.98 and El Molino Ellie Roan Shot Put 38-8, Discus 118-8.
Santa Rosa senior Kassidy Schroth lead both sprints in 2021 at 100 12.44 ‑0.3 and 200 25.73 +1.2.
St Helena junior Eva Bowen 400 59.10
And we already know of one new comer in Montgomery freshman Hanne Thomsen who ran a 1600 in 4:51.74 and has already won a state cross country championship.
