Best team ever, maybe, but definitely the fastest ever at the 3.05 mile Spring Lake course.
Maria Carrillo redefined dominance here today.
They beat the team course record by the 2011 Piner team and had their entire Varsity team place in the top 10 including the top four spots.
It was the second most dominate team score behind the 1988 win by Santa Rosa-Montgomery 16-66.
Their JV team was faster than any other Varsity team minus Santa Rosa. They took the top 8 places in the JV race and 15 of the fastest 21 spots.
The Puma’s were led by five seniors.
Colton Swinth ran the 5th fastest time ever on the course winning in 15:05.
Rory Smail was next moving into the All-Time top 20 at 15:21.
Pierce Kapustka was third in 15:24 and Omar Alvarez-Hernandez 4th in 15:29, Patrick Phillip completed the scoring team in 6th at 15:39.
Only Santa Rosa’s Andrew McKamey could break up the Puma’s taking 5th in 15:37.
Healdsburg’s junior Jack Vanden Heuvel was 7th breaking his school’s 27 year old record finishing in 15:41.
Carrillo sophomore’s Jacob Donohue (8th 15:49) and Noe Vieyra (10th 16:26) completed the varsity team with junior Simon Peterson winning the JV race in 15:59.
Santa Rosa’s Andrew Engel was 9th in 16:18.
Piner had sophomore Jimy Garcia (16:39) and freshman Jared Hayes (16:41) complete the top 12.
